Job Title: Registered Nurse Med/Surg (Post-Operative Care) Location: Elmhurst, NY, USA 11373 Duration: [Insert Contract Duration] Shift: [Insert Shift Details e.g., 3x12s, Nights/Days/Rotating] Key Responsibilities: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre-operative and post-operative patients. Administer and document prescribed medications accurately. Perform clinical procedures including wound care, catheter insertion, and IV initiation. Monitor patient vital signs and promptly report any adverse reactions or changes in condition. Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment as required. Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures and post-operative care. Participate in discharge planning and care coordination. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, charts, and documentation. Follow established nursing standards, protocols, and infection control guidelines. Required Qualification: Minimum of two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in: A large acute care hospital setting, OR A post-acute care facility or acute care setting Recent experience must be within the last one (1) year Strong clinical skills in physical assessment, patient care, and clinical decision-making Current Certifications: Active Registered Nurse (RN) License (State-specific) Basic Life Support (BLS) Required Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred (if applicable) Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system Experience in telemetry monitoring Strong skills in post-operative care, IV therapy, wound care, and infection control Excellent communication and patient education abilities
