Job specificationCandidate requirementsJob specification Review and analyze patient medical records to ensure that clinical documentation accurately reflects the level of care provided and supports appropriate coding and billing. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to clarify clinical documentation and ensure the proper reflection of the patient's clinical condition and treatment. Educate clinical staff on documentation improvement techniques to enhance the overall quality of medical records. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including ICD-10 coding guidelines and Joint Commission documentation requirements. Conduct regular audits of clinical documentation and provide feedback to medical teams to optimize the accuracy of records. Candidate requirements MD or RN with experience in clinical documentation and coding is required. Foreign or Domestic Medical School Graduate (license not required) OR Graduate from a Physician's Assistant (PA) or Registered Nurse (RN) program. A graduate degree in a Registered Nurse Practitioner (RNP) program is preferred. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Health Information Management (HIM) within the specified patient population is required. At least 3 years of acute hospital inpatient coding experience is highly preferred. M.D. or D.O.; ECFMG certification preferred for Foreign Medical Graduates. RN or Current PA or RNP license is required, as applicable. A Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) is highly preferred.
