Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS: * Master's degree or higher from an accredited university with an emphasis in school psychology, educational psychology, or a related field preferred; * Texas licensure as a licensed specialist in school psychology (L.S.S.P.) already received or in the application process; * Demonstrated skillset in leading, motivating, supporting, and working collaboratively with others; * Minimum of one year of experience providing psychological services in a school setting. This may include LSSP internship experience; * Knowledge of Special Education service delivery. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Probationary/Term Contract: 197 days ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Conduct individual, group, or facilitative counseling for both regular and special education students who have been referred for these services by appropriate school personnel. * Maintain case records on all referred students. * Confer with teachers and parents of students upon request. * Provide consultation services to the teachers and supervisors of the adaptive behavior program. * Assist parents of emotionally disturbed students through consultation and facilitation of various parent groups. * Interprets school psychological services to school personnel and parents. * Interfaces with personnel of community health and social welfare agencies. * Attend staff, professional, and interagency meetings as requested. * Assist with in-service training of school personnel as requested. * Conduct appropriate research as requested. * Assess referred students through appropriate testing and diagnostic practices and follow-through referred cases to the termination. * Attend Individual Education Plan (IEP) committee meetings for emotionally disturbed students and other special education students, when appropriate. * Intervene with students in crises to successfully reduce the negative impact of stressful events. * Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function. * Performs other duties as assigned.
