Essential FunctionsThe job duties and responsibilities of the position of Plant Healthcare Technician include, but are not limited to, assisting the Head Gardener with:Supporting the Master Arborist with arboricultural activities when requiredSupporting other teams within the organization when requiredOversite of seasonal staff in a professional manner when Head Gardener is not presentWork alongside Head Gardener while planning and executing gardens and flower bedsWork with Head Gardener to obtain insight on the purchase of plants and materialCare and maintenance of all flower beds, pots and hanging basketsHarvesting and maintenance of vegetable gardens, blueberry & raspberry patches, and landscape bedsCare for indoor plants at residence and Corporate locationRecording and distribution of vegetables and fruitsProper use and care of all garden equipmentAbility to detect pest or disease problems and report to supervisorMaintain a professional manner at all timesTreat all company equipment and vehicles responsiblyExhibit adequate communication skillsAssist as requested in special events at corporate location and other locations as requested.Competencies and QualificationsMinimum of 3 years working in horticulture environment preferredCategory 3C pesticide applicator or willing to obtain Current certification for OSHA 10, or willing to obtain Knowledge of harvesting and maintenance of plants and vegetablesReliability and positive work ethicOpen and creative mindsetGood communication and organizational skillsPossess a valid driver's licenseAbility to take and give directionStrong team leader and playerDemonstrates willingness to grow in position including attendance at training classes preferredAbility to work in all types of weatherGranite Associates is an Equal Employment Opportunity Agency and will give all qualified applicants consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
