CHS is also a pivotal partner in New York City's criminal justice reform efforts.Work Shifts8:00 A.M - 4:00 P.M Facility: Trailer 4 at Rikers IslandDuties & ResponsibilitiesClinician Educator - Associate Executive DirectorDescription:CHS is seeking highly trained physicians to provide primary care in the NYC jail system, as well as participate in system-wide education, quality improvement, and population health initiatives.Clinical duties (primary role):Provide primary care to patients in jail-based clinics, including:Intake evaluation and treatmentFollow-up on chronic illnessProvide emergency care with the support of emergency medicine physiciansPhysicians work as part of a care delivery team with a strong physician assistant, nursing, mental health, and administrative staff.Clinical Education duties:Correctional Health Clinician Educators may participate in various quality improvement projects, data analysis, policy development, special projects, and education of clinical staff and trainees. Requirements include:Meet monthly with CHS clinician educators to discuss the CHS elective program, clinical education initiatives, and CHS policies and contribute to journal club discussions.Directly supervise trainees in clinical care (e.g., medical students and residents).Contribute to peer review initiatives that aim to improve the quality of care delivery (e.g., antibiotic usage, referral practices).Compensation and benefits are competitive, and malpractice is covered.Minimum Qualifications1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital or Health Care Administration, Public Health or a related discipline and five (5) years of high-level responsible experience in Hospital, Business, or Public Administration or a Health Care Administrator in a position of direct responsibility for operations of a major part or all of a, health care setting, including substantial exposure in meeting community health needs; or2.
