Job Description Job Summary The Recreational Coordinator duties and responsibilities will consist of assisting the RAC leadership in the oversight of the RACs day-to-day operation as well as sports competitions and campus recreation activities. The Recreational Coordinator will assist the RAC leadership in organizing, executing, and promoting all RAC activities. Key Responsibilities * Welcomes and orients visitors to the RAC and SWBTS campus, clearly explaining facility guidelines and encouraging engagement in recreational activities. * Organizes, leads, and promotes all RAC-sponsored programs and events by engaging students and staff, collaborating with campus departments, and supporting event setup and execution. * Oversees the safe use of all RAC-managed areas including the gym, weight room, and aerobics room; address disputes and enforce campus/RAC policies with professionalism and courtesy. * Tracks participation data and provide event summaries or feedback reports to RAC leadership. * Steps up to oversee and run RAC operations in the absence of the RAC Manager or other leadership staff. * Communicates effectively with instructors, referees, and other partners; assist with activity support and submit necessary contracts and invoices for third-party personnel to RAC leadership. * Processes sales of RAC concessions, memberships, and rentals accurately, and handles transactions for snacks, beverages, and other retail items for RAC patrons. * Assists in maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked facility; monitor inventory levels and notify leadership in advance of supply needs or repairs. * Performs additional duties as assigned, supporting the overall operations and mission of the RAC. Supervisory/Leadership/Stewardship Responsibilities: * Manages the control desk team by overseeing scheduling, answering questions, and supporting daily front desk operations. * Coordinates and oversees sports tournaments and intramural competitions, including registration, scheduling, team communication, score reporting, and awards. * Monitors tournament logistics and troubleshooting issues on-site to minimize disruptions and maintain a positive participant experience. Qualifications and Skills * High school education completion required, bachelors degree preferred. * Experience in principles, procedures of recreational & sport activities required. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly and simply articulate the value propositions of SWBTS. * Exemplary social skills with an ability to be a part of and contribute to a collaborative team and demonstrate love and appreciation for cross-cultural interaction. * Exhibits a strong work ethic, personal initiative, and reliability, effectively managing multiple tasks with attention to detail while contributing positively as a team member. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with gym-related software preferred. * Ability to demonstrate safe use as well as proper techniques of weight equipment required. * Ability to handle cash with accuracy and integrity. * Demonstrates the ability to diffuse conflict calmly and professionally, ensuring respectful outcomes for all parties involved. Physical Requirements * Office Environment - May be required to reach above shoulder level for organizational tasks (e.g., retrieving files from upper shelves), bend, stoop, reach to access lower or upper shelves, and climb 6 ladder. * Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time and move about to the office to interact with other staff members. * Ability to use a computer and near-visual acuity in reading written documents and statistical data. * Exchanges information by telephone, computer, in writing and in person. * Ability to traverse campus for meetings and talk to groups while doing so. * Heavy Lifting - Occasionally transports 40-45lbs of parts and equipment across short distances by various means (e.g., carrying by hand, cart, golf cart) to accomplish tasks. * Ability to work inside and outside and withstand the heat and cold of the north Texas climate.
