Join AZAD as a Senior Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist and ensure EHS compliance while creating and upholding our safety culture. As part of a growing team, you will Integrate EHS programs into daily operations to assure regulatory compliance, achieve continuous performance improvement and meet EHS performance objectives. In this hands-on role, the Senior EHS Specialist will own programs such as, the site Injury Illness & Prevention Program, Hazardous Communication Plan, and Ergonomics Program.This is a full-time consultant position based in Rochester, NY with a high probability of long term and ongoing continued employment. The hourly pay rate range for this position is between $55.00 and $60.21 depending on related qualifications and experience, as well as composition of selected compensation package.Schedule:Work-from-home 1 day every two weeksSupporting 3 Rochester sites• 2 days - Highpower St• 2 days - Linden St• 1 day - St. Paul StStandard hours: M-F, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (flexible as needed)~50% of time on the production floorEssential Functions:Assist in development, coordination, and the implementation of the Corporate policies regarding EHSSupport and develop the CSR- EHS & Sustainability programs (Corporate Social Responsibility)Provides technical support and information in the development of key metrics and objectives for EHSInteract with the various local, state and federal agencies such as OSHA, DEP, EPA, Insurance carriers, Local Fire/Police, and many others for permitting and inspection requirementsChair the Safety Committee each month and coordinate with members to complete action itemsTrain employees on company policies and regulations pertaining to employee safety in conjunction with Human Resources such as Blood Borne Pathogens, HazCom, Chemical Hygiene, LOTO, etc.Leads incident investigations and root cause corrective action plans and corrective action implementationPerforms proactive safety inspections, monitors hazardous waste removal vendors, and assists in consolidating hazardous wastes.Review plans for operational projects, equipment installation, etc. Determine compliance with safety, security and environmental requirementsWorks directly with first line supervision and management to implement the EHS Program in an effective mannerTracks and manages site EHS budgetThe ideal candidate must possess the minimum qualifications:B.S. degree or higher in Environmental field or related discipline or equivalent experience in lieu of degree3-5 years of experience in EHS fieldDemonstrate knowledge and understanding of health and safety functions within a manufacturing environment and the federal and state regulationsEnvironmental or OSHA related training such as HAZWOPER, GHS, etc. is desiredStrong communication & interpersonal skillsStrong presentation and organizational skillsStrong analytical & problem-solving skillsAZAD is looking for bright, talented, flexible, and customer centric problem solvers who enjoy the challenges associated with solving the most complex problems by utilizing the most sophisticated technologies and strong people skills.Founded and managed by technologists and engineers, AZAD is a leading provider of Consulting Services to Fortune 500 and innovative firms since 1992.AZAD's model provides a unique employment experience that is career path focused, relationship based and dedicated to advocacy and retention with an average tenure of 9 years.Our collaborative approach to support our clients, projects and supporting our employees' career paths are the keys to our success.
