Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Position Title Academic Scholar-Clinical Assistant Professor; Pediatric Hospitalist Newborn Nursery Posting Category Faculty Department Pediatrics Posting Number U260019 Posting Link Employer University Affiliates Appointment Term Position Type Posting Detail Information Position Summary The Department of Pediatrics in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo (UB), and the Golisano Children's Hospital of Buffalo (GCH) is actively recruiting for a full-time pediatrician in the Division of General Pediatrics to focus on well newborn nursery care. Candidates must be BE or BC pediatric physicians but do not need to be PHM board certified. Clinical responsibilities will include the care of infants at GCH as well as shifts at the active newborn nursery unit at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital as needed. There is no level II nursery or requirement to attend deliveries. Rounding, clinical care and call are shared among the newborn nursery physicians, with on-site neonatology backup at both sites. Faculty duties include education, instruction, and oversight of pediatric residents and medical students from Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Leadership and research opportunities in newborn medicine education, breastfeeding, health equity, and advocacy are available. Additional opportunities exist for clinical, research and education duties in pediatric hospital medicine, community-based primary care ambulatory clinics, and developmental follow-up if desired.
