We use empirical data to hone our craft and deliver outstanding patient care.POSITION SUMMARYThe Clinical Applications Specialist is responsible for being the subject matter expert for MRI Fusion Biopsy technologies as well as the setup of new MRI Fusion Biopsy operations. The base knowledge required includes operating ultrasound systems and assisting in the execution of MRI/ultrasound fusion-guided prostate biopsies. This role involves preparing and maintaining fusion software platforms, positioning patients, capturing real-time ultrasound images, and ensuring integration with pre-acquired MRI data as well as training others to do the same.This position plays a key role in supporting physicians to set up operations for biopsy procedures while ensuring accurate imaging, documentation, and patient care. The Clinical Applications Specialist will support newly established clinical operations across the country, provide hands-on training for new hires, and assist in the expansion of NextMed service opportunities.Frequent nationwide travel is required to support new clinic partnerships and operational growth.Key ResponsibilitiesImaging Setup & Support Operate ultrasound equipment during prostate biopsy procedures. Load and align pre-acquired multiparametric MRI images using fusion software (e.g., bkFusion, UroNav, Artemis). Conduct image registration and perform real-time fusion mapping. Assist in needle guidance and lesion targeting alongside the physician. Ensure proper calibration and functionality of imaging equipment prior to procedures.Procedure Assistance Prepare procedure rooms and biopsy equipment (transrectal or transperineal). Maintain sterile technique and support physicians during sampling. Monitor patient positioning, comfort, and vitals as needed. Assist with workflow efficiency during biopsy procedures.Nationwide Travel & Route Development Travel nationwide to support newly established service routes and partner clinics. Assist in launching and stabilizing new clinical locations and procedural workflows. Ensure equipment setup, operational readiness, and procedural consistency across sites. Work closely with clinical teams to ensure smooth implementation of fusion biopsy services.Training & Mentorship Provide hands-on training and mentorship for newly hired technicians. Support onboarding of new staff on imaging equipment, fusion platforms, and procedural workflow. Ensure adherence to NextMed clinical protocols and quality standards. Assist leadership in identifying training needs and maintaining operational excellence.Data & Documentation Record images, track biopsy locations, and log patient data accurately. Maintain imaging and biopsy records in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies. Assist with quality assurance and documentation of procedures.Patient Interaction Explain procedure steps to patients and answer questions.
