Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc. seeks a Full-time (40 hours/week) Certified Peer Specialist who can provide non-clinical peer support services using lived experience of recovery to support individuals in resiliency, engagement, and wellness.Job Responsibilities:Provide individual and group peer support services to care givers within MHOTRS and Trauma and Resiliency Service programs through face to face, telephone, email and telehealth meetings with the family.Provide peer servicesSupport individuals in self-advocacy, empowerment, and informed decision making. Serve as a bridge between individuals and providers during transition care.Assist individuals in identifying needs, determining available community and natural resources and advocating for those services.Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and participate in supervision.Assists individuals in identifying strengths upon which to build a foundation of improved communication and coping skills.Use electronic health record to complete documentation requirements in a timely manner per program guidelines.Complete family assessment tools and surveys as required.Represent Cayuga Counseling Services at community, state and national forums as assigned. Build relationships with mental health and advocacy organizations.Assist in the facilitation of the mental health support group. Complete Bi-annual required training and documentation of NYS Certified Peer Advocate credentialing.Follows Medicaid rules and regulations for billing.Follows HIPPA regulations and acquire appropriate releases of information.Preforms other duties as required. Qualifications:New York State Certified Peer Specialist required (or provisional)High School diploma or equivalentMust have a valid NYS driver's license and insurance. Lived experience with emotional, behavioral, developmental delays or mental health disorder required.
