Gessner Engineering's Lab Technicians perform tests on soils, concrete, and asphalt in the lab. Clients request our testing services to serve as quality control for certain aspects of their projects. The tests Lab Technicians perform verify if materials meet specifications. We are looking for someone to work Part-Time, 20-30hrs/week, on site in Brenham, TX.Duties & Responsibilities/Essential FunctionsPerform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual laborLaboratory testing of soils, aggregate and asphaltPrepare daily reports and documentation of field activities in electronic formatMaintain a clean work area: pick up and clean all tools and equipmentPerform materials handling and storageLoad and unload trucks, haul and hoist materialsEnsure that proper personal protective equipment is worn on all job sites. Brings problems to the attention of your manager or HR manager.Possess the ability to fluently read and understand proceduresSafely operate Gessner Engineering vehicles on the road and within job sitesMaintain company equipment and vehicles in line with proper use, maintenance, and safety guidelinesPerform logging and packaging of soil samplesQualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent Licensure/CertificationsPreferred - one or more of the followingACI Concrete Field-Testing CertificationACI Concrete Strength TestingACI Aggregate TestingSB 101 - Materials PropertiesSB 102 - Field SpecialistSB 201 - Moisture-Density SpecialistExperience/SkillsVerbal and written communication skillsPhysical strength, stamina, and dexterity to lift and move 70 lbs., stoop, bend and stand throughout the course of up to a 12-hour workdayBe solutions minded.
