Job Number: RC# 902451 DESCRIPTION / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS This position is responsible for the operation of industrial electrical systems associated with Water Division assets and infrastructure. Provides technical expertise on systems. Duties include, but are not limited to the following * Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical wiring and systems associated with water, wastewater infrastructure, stormwater conveyance systems and Tempe Town Lake dam. * Install wires, conduit and perform electrical work on systems of up to 4160 volts. * Install new circuits, control cabinets, boxes, VFD's and Soft Starts. * Perform routine preventative electrical maintenance on cabinets, motors and other industrial electrical components in voltages up to 4160vac. * Establish operating criteria and standard operating procedures for proper operation of electrical systems. * Coordinate work and review work quality for vendors and contractors. * Test, run, and maintain backup power generation equipment and power supply systems; complete documentation for regulatory agency requirements. * Maintain and calibrate electrical testing equipment, tools and instruments. * Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair luminaries and lighting systems including ultra-violet disinfection systems. * Accurately document activities in asset management and workorder systems. * May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned. * Participation in stand-by, on-call rotation is required. REQUIREMENTS Experience: Two (2) years of experience in journey-level electrical work, or related experience Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant's full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience. Education: High school diploma or GED. Professional Licensure and/or Certifications: * Valid Driver's License * Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Grade 1 Water Treatment Certification, obtain within 12 months.
