A regional health system in Athens, GA, is welcoming Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologists to join a growing, hospital-employed gastroenterology program. This is a growth-driven, permanent recruitment designed to expand the group to four physicians in response to significant community demand and a robust internal referral base.The practice offers immediate clinical volume, strong administrative support, and a long-term strategic vision that includes expansion of facilities and future ASC development. Both general gastroenterologists and physicians with advanced endoscopy training are encouraged to apply.Position Highlights:-Hospital-employed general or advanced gastroenterology position-Join a highly productive GI physician, willing and ready to mentor and one senior APP; second APP anticipated-Strong internal referral network with no volume concerns for incoming physicians-2,500+ referrals annually with two rural facilities feeding referrals into Athens-At least one advanced GI desired, with expectation of some general GI initially as advanced volume ramps up-All procedures currently performed at the hospital-based endoscopy centerSchedule & workflow:-Call is currently capped at no more than 1:5, with improvement as the group grows-Target model moving toward 4:1 endoscopy-to-clinic-Goal to maximize physician time in endoscopyCulture & mentorship:Collegial, supportive environmentCurrent physician is a strong mentor, particularly attractive for fellows and early-career physiciansHighly engaged hospital leadership and administrationCompensation & Benefits Overview-Base salary range: $600,000+, with flexibility upward for high-volume or experienced candidates-Sign-on and relocation package - split between signing and start date-wRVU-based incentive structure:-Upside-only modelComprehensive benefits, including:-Medical malpractice with tail coverage-Health, dental, and vision insurance-403(b) and 457 retirement plans-Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligible-Full support for Georgia licensure, credentialing, and hospital privileges-Visa sponsorship is considered on a case-by-case basisCommunity Highlights Athens, GeorgiaAthens offers the charm of a vibrant university town combined with the accessibility of a major metro.
