Job Family ADMIN - Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) Grade 16 Salary $71,171- $88,963 Department Campus Services Reports To Director, Campus Administration Closing Date July 15, 2026 FLSA Status Exempt - Not Eligible for Overtime Compensation First Review Date April 29, 2026 Position Overview The Director provides leadership and direction to campus departments requiring general support services. T his is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College's District Board of Trustees. What you will be doing Manages campus services that may include, custodial services, PBX, public safety, duplicating and mail services Coordinates and trains personnel within department to ensure Campus Emergency Preparedness Identifies maintenance needs and ensures that maintenance issues are addressed by the Maintenance Department Directs the receiving function, coordinates the set up and services for special event activities with other departments including shuttle service Assists in the coordination of plant maintenance needs with District Facilities Maintenance Hires, supervises, evaluates and coordinates work schedules of staff and promotes a positive, service-oriented image of the College personnel Develops and administers related budgets for staff and resources in the department Sets priorities and manages multiple projects Analyzes, troubleshoots, and implements corrective measures to maintain services for a campus Consults with administrators, supporting staff and faculty to assess individual and departmental Campus Services' needs and to design efficient, effective responses to meet them Establishes effectiveness measures to document departmental responsiveness to changed circumstances Ensures that the College is in compliance with OSHA guidelines concerning biohazard materials Manages and negotiates vendor accounts and ensures materials that are ordered are received and paid Serves as a liaison between the campus and community organizations for event planning and implementation Attracts, maintains, and directs revenue streams via facilities rentals Handles negotiations and maintenance of all service contracts for a campus Performs other duties as assigned What you need to succeed Bachelor's in related field and seven (7) years of relevant experience including three (3) years of management/supervisory experience; or Master's degree and three (3) years of relevant experience including three (3) years of management/supervisory experience Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local law enforcement procedures as it relates to departments under his or her supervision and the campus Knowledge and familiarity on application and usage of custodial supplies and materials Knowledge and familiarity of conflict resolution procedures Knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications to include word processing, spreadsheet, database, and project management Knowledge of technological systems as they apply to instructional, administrative and workplace needs Possess employee development and performance management skills Possess strong leadership skills that promote dedication, creativity, innovation and growth Ability to understand and follow campus procedures and guidelines Ability to develop and interpret financial data/plans and manage resources including facilities and equipment inventory management Ability to analyze and interpret financial data Ability to think, reason, and make sound judgments on how responsibilities are completed in compliance with college standards and guidelines Ability to develop layouts for special events Ability to manage budgets and generate reports Possess strong customer service skills Ability to communicate effectively with employees, faculty, staff and community groups Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff Essential Position This function/position has been designated as essential.
