As a CT Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services using computed tomography equipment. You will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate imaging, patient safety, and compassionate care in a fast-paced clinical environment. Responsibilities: * Ensure all imaging exams are coded, tracked in RIS, archived in ISITE, and charges entered accurately. * Administer oral, rectal, and IV contrast per physician orders and assess patients for risk factors. * Demonstrate willingness to learn and mentor new hires and students. * Communicate instructions and explain procedures clearly to patients to reduce anxiety and encourage cooperation. * Provide compassionate care and work collaboratively with patients and team members across departments. * Operate complex imaging equipment for acquisition, analysis, and documentation of image data according to protocol. * Maintain flexibility to support various clinical areas and workflows based on departmental needs and patient volumes. * Perform technical CT procedures using independent judgment to adjust protocols and apply ionizing radiation appropriately. * Ensure patient safety by using two identifiers, following universal protocol, reviewing history, and documenting in electronic records. * Complete CT scans using established protocols, including contrast administration, with minimal supervision. Schedule: This position will work rotating day, weekends, holidays, and shifts. The shift hours will be 6a-2p, 7a-3p, 8a-4p, 2p-10p, 10p-6a. This position will work within the CT department and the X-Ray department. Qualifications: * Completion of formal training in an accredited CT program required. * When rotating between two or more specialties, must hold registry in each specialty. * Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: * American Registered Radiologic (ARRT) OR Nuclear Medical Technologist (NMTC) OR certified by a CNMT program is required. * Must maintain 2 imaging registries/certifications and maintain competency in all as required by hiring Business Unit. * Must be willing and demonstrate flexibility to be assigned to any of the maintained registries by leadership. * Must provide flexibility to work least one off-shift (evening, nights or weekend), every 90 days as requested by imaging leadership. * CPR (BLS) required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire. * ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) * Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) * Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal * Act 33 with renewal * Act 34 with renewal * Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
