Position Type: Paraprofessional/Instructional Aide Date Posted: 4/14/2026 Location: Employee Child Care Center Date Available: April 2026   Additional Information: Show/Hide Primary Purpose: Responsible for providing instruction and assuring each child is well cared for and safe at the CISD Employee Child Care Center. Qualifications: * 18 years of age or older Education/Certification: Per the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS), new employees with less than 2 years' experience must: * Obtain 24 hours of pre-service training within 90 days of hire to work in a licensed center (employees will not be compensated for pre-service hours) * Complete 8 of the 24 hours of pre-service training hours before being counted in the child/caregiver ratio * Have high school diploma, high school equivalent, or high school certificate of coursework completion as defined in Texas Education Code, §28.025(d) * Acquire and maintain current CPR, First Aid and Food Handler's certificates, * TAcquire exas Education Aide Certificate or Child Development Associates (CDA) * Associates Degree in Early Childhood or closely related field or Valid (Preferred) Special Knowledge/Skills: * Knowledge of TDFPS minimum standards for child-care centers * Knowledge of developmental milestones of young children * Ability to work flexible hours, be punctual and demonstrate a positive attitude * Display good communication skills and ability to receive and follow directions * Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal skills and enjoy being around children * Ability to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and adaptability * Ability to work with diverse populations Experience: * Experience in a licensed child care related fields preferred Salary: Minimum $12,278 (191 days-2025-2026) Salary determination will be based on verified relevant work experience.
