Biomedical Technician Location: Seattle, Washington Type: Contract Job #88059 APR Consulting, Inc. has been engaged to identify a Biomedical Technician Location: Seattle, WA 98195 Position: Biomedical Technician Pay Rate: $48.50/hr Duration:13 to 26weeks Expected Shift: Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30am Weekend Req: Yes as needed by unit Job Duties & Performance Standards Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness Responds promptly to customer needs and manages difficult or emotional customer situations Prioritizes and plans work activities while meeting productivity standards, (123hrs/mo of documented mission focused time) Demonstrates a commitment to participating in the development of the character and policies of the department Competent in required job skills and knowledge and proactively supports coordinated sharing of their knowledge and experience with less qualified peers Exhibits ability to learn and apply new skills Uses available resources effectively Works actively to resolve conflicts and develop alternative solutions Able to adjust work habits to fit environmental or workload changes Keeps others adequately informed Advocates and follows good safety practices. Job-Specific Requirements Regulatory Requirements Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school and five years related experience in a hospital setting. Language Skills Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Other Skills Basic computer knowledge. Basic medical terminology Underlying principles of physics, chemistry, hydraulics, light, and sound. A strong grasp of electronics, microprocessors, mechanical and electromechanical methods. Knowledge of clinical applications of common medical equipment. Able to identify and understand the basic operating principles of standard analog and digital electronic circuits and electromechanical components. Able to read electrical and electronic circuit diagrams. Able to identify components both schematically and physically to the generic type and family. Able to successfully identify and order proper replacement components from OEM or third party. Demonstrates ability to accurately acquire basic competency on new technologies or makes of equipment through self-study of manufacturer's documentation, on the job training, and other sources Routinely exercises logical, progressive trouble shooting techniques at both the systems and component levels. Reads, understands and interprets the logical flow of service documentation including schematics, parts lists, servicing procedures and specifications. Expert technical and clinical knowledge of one or more significant patient care related system. Working technical and clinical knowledge of two or more identified "primary" departments of responsibility. General technical and clinical knowledge of all areas of the medical center supported by Clinical Engineering. Has general technical and clinical knowledge of equipment that they have backup responsibilities for. Guaranteed Hours: In the event of low census Healthcare Providers may be called off without charge or placed on-call (for standard on-call rate) in 4 hour increments up to 1 shifts worth of hours in a 2 week cycle. For ambulatory or surgical services areas that are closed on weekends and holidays, Hospitals will not schedule travelers or meet the minimum during these periods.
