Expected pay: $20.21 - $23.77 per hour. Pay will be based on experience, skills and internal equity. This is an hourly position. Overview Candidate must reside in IL or MI. Work from home is possible after completion of onsite 90"‘day training in Peoria. The Patient Financial Navigator ensures each patient has a complete and accurate OSF medical record, including patient demographics, insurance coverage, responsible guarantor, and accurate registration. The role communicates billing information clearly to patients, educates them on estimated out"‘of"‘pocket expenses, assists with payment options, and supports the patient on financial options. Navigator determines payer source, obtains authorization, identifies requirements such as referral or pre"‘determination, and determines coverage status. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with peers, supervisors, payors, physicians, patients, and other departments. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Associate's Degree and at least one year of customer service/relations experience; or High School Diploma and at least two years of experience in a call center, healthcare, and/or public health setting. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem"‘solving skills with attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a health"‘care related field. Experience in patient registration, accounts, finance, insurance benefits, or financial assistance programs. Experience in medical billing, working with insurance companies, third"‘party administrators, and collections with an emphasis on customer phone contact.
