Farnsworth Group is seeking a Surveying Technician - Office (MicroStation ORD/AutoCAD Civil3D) in Peoria or Normal, IL. What You'll Do Work independently to obtain records & project information Prepare complex drawings from field data and field sketches using computer-aided drafting software platforms and ensure drawings are accurate and complete. Adhere to company and client standard CAD procedures as mandated. Exercise independent judgment in the execution of surveying deliverables. Communicate ideas for drawing execution, design and layout. Maintain schedules and communicate progress on a daily basis. Mentor less experienced surveying technicians and offer advice & knowledge. What You'll Need 6+ years previous surveying experience Valid US driver's license & good driving record High School diploma or equivalent Ability to operate in a mentor/mentee team atmosphere Ability to understand and utilize current & new technology Safety oriented Excellent communication skills Positive and collaborative work ethic Experience with MS Office products (Word & Excel) Nice to Haves 10+ years previous surveying experience Expert/advanced understanding of land surveying and geometry. Expert knowledge of AutoCAD C3D and/or MicroStation ORD CST1 or CST 2 or CST 3 (certified survey technician level 1 or 2 or 3) certification. Experienced with Aerial Drone and 3D Point Cloud scanning technology. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Primarily an office position, but ability to work outside on projects if needed. Ability to work in various terrain & weather conditions and recognize safety hazards. Requires the ability to work on multi-discipline projects simultaneously. Ability to use a computer and work in an office environment. Makes suggestions & undertakes company mandated trainings to increase skill and ability.
