Child Support Services Supervisor The County of Riverside's Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) is recruiting for a Child Support Services Supervisor located in Riverside, CA. Responsibilities Oversee productivity and performance of individual team members and the overall team. Provide statistical reports on team progress, identify and resolve workflow impediments, and ensure high standards of work. Handle escalated customer calls with exceptional service and address personnel issues. Ensure compliance with safety and confidentiality protocols, creating a professional and safe work environment. Approve timecards, distribute tasks, facilitate team meetings, and analyze team dynamics to ensure team success and departmental goals. Plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate the work of an assigned team or staff engaged in staff development programs. Determine in-service training and staff development needs, ensuring high standards of performance and compliance with policies. Research, analyze, and develop recommendations on family/child support legislative issues. Provide instruction on policies and procedures concerning collection operations; act as resource on collection activities. Expedite workflow; implement new methods and procedures for casework processing to improve efficiency. Review difficult cases referred by Specialists and Interviewers for best action. Participate in employee selection, counseling, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and ongoing progress monitoring. Prepare statistical and other reports. Monitor and adjust assignments to maintain uniform distribution of work. Directly answer inquiries concerning casework for custodial and non-custodial parents and others with supervisory attention. Qualifications Associate degree or higher. Two years of leadership and/or training experience, or at least two years as a Senior Child Support Specialist. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint). Strong writing skills and effective communication in group and individual settings. Excellent critical thinking and sound decision-making capabilities. Proven ability to promote and support an environment of cooperation and respect. Four years as a Child Support Specialist with the County of Riverside or equivalent, with experience in evaluations, compliance monitoring, and case audits. Knowledge and Ability Basic principles of supervision and training; office procedures; laws and regulations regarding paternity establishment and enforcement. Planning, research, analysis, interviewing techniques, and financial asset determination. Orientation and in-service training procedures. Collecting and adjusting accounts methods. Ability to plan, assign, and supervise activities; interpret regulations; develop policies; gather and analyse information; present oral and written reports; promote cooperation.
