Job Description

Job Purpose This position is responsible for the successful execution of account and territory strategies for assigned broker dealers distributing TruStage Annuities, including acquisition, optimization and retention of business. The role provides strategic support to wholesalers to enhance their efforts of face"‘to"‘face product distribution through affiliated representatives and external broker dealers, develops and implements strategic plans for business development with investment advisors, and manages relationships with key managers and external broker dealers. Consultative selling is employed to support retail sales activities, increase sales and market share objectives within an assigned geographic region, and manage day"‘to"‘day activities of designated wholesalers. The role will be based outside of the Madison office location. Territory and Location Territory of coverage is Southern California and Southern Nevada; the role is remote, and candidates in the Pacific Time Zone will be considered. Job Responsibilities Develop and expand advisor relationships, educate, assist and execute product sales programs and strategies via virtual and face"‘to"‘face channels. Continuously build, maintain and enhance positive business relationships within investment advisors offering CM Annuity products, providing outbound support and advising on appropriate use of CM Annuity products, literature and sales tools. Help develop recognition programs and ensure their effective administration. Document field contact through established contact management tools, utilizing contact data to enhance the level of field support and improve decision"‘making. Provide support by answering product questions, following up on requests for information and proposals, and troubleshooting product and process issues for advisors. Provide marketing support through periodic participation in field schools, training meetings and sales conventions; design and deliver product sessions and marketing presentations; participate in product marketing booths at conventions or trade shows. Develop strong relationships with field management, home office service, marketing, and investment advisory staff to ensure effective communication between all parties. Support one or more Regional Vice Presidents, wholesalers and/or product marketers by partnering in the development and execution of marketing plans, allocating funding for business development programs, and providing sales strategies and product education. Maintain and build strong product knowledge, including economic, industry and competitor information, and a solid understanding of back"‘office processes for the investment advisor, broker/dealer operations and associated vendor relationships. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or equivalent professional work experience. 3-5 years of sales, marketing or customer service experience in the financial industry. Strong knowledge of investment and/or insurance products. Demonstrated sales & marketing knowledge of annuities and variable products within a needs"‘based sales process. FINRA Securities Industry Essentials Examination, Series 6 or 7 and 63 licenses required; life and variable licenses required. Industry designations a plus (CPA, CFA, ChFC, CLU, etc.). Strong oral and written communication skills; capable of presenting technical product knowledge with professional phone and face"‘to"‘face skills. Exercise sound judgment and solid decision"‘making for allocating company resources for business development. Highly motivated, able to work independently and perform under pressure; proven ability to grow a sales territory. Ability and desire to spend a significant portion of the job developing relationships virtually and over the phone. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment; strong territory management, independence and organizational skills. Working knowledge of office automation tools; experience with contact management tools a plus. Ability to travel up to 30%. Base Salary Range $48,800.00 - $81,300.00 Benefits In addition to base pay, the position may be eligible for an annual incentive (bonus) plan.
