OverviewAs a Commercial Field Service Technician, you will be empowered to work across the entire Tesla organization to problem solve and ensure the success of our Commercial Energy field service execution. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance services to Tesla's commercial products such as solar PV systems, energy storage, and electric vehicle charging stations. The focus of this role would primarily be solar PV systems. This position will require 100% travel and candidate should reside in contiguous United States (lower 48 states).What You'll DoLayout and assist in the assembly of solar modules /array, mounting hardware, and electrical equipmentOrganize trucks for installs/removals for the upcoming day making sure everything is neat and organizedAble to perform required preventive maintenance activities on Commercial PV systems and capable of training/mentoring others in the team as neededRespond to corrective maintenance cases on all commercial energy products and updating online case logs accuratelyRespond to customers' concerns with the performance or functionality of their systemWhat You'll BringMinimum 2 years' experience PV equipment and installation, preferably commercial or utility scale and with extensive knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment and have the ability to read electrical plan sets and equipment manualsPrevious experience working with power/hand tools, electrical equipment, and ability to navigate numerous computer applications and technology independentlyAbility to work at great heights, work in extreme environments, perform prolonged periods of repetitious duties, lift at least 50lbs. frequently and work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, etc), these positions require working at heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders and stairsCapable of performing repetitious duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time up to 12 hours a day and have the ability to safely handle tools and materials such as: ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materialsAbility to climb and utilize equipment on site including various ladders rated for 300 lbs.and must meet OSHA fall protection standards for at height work limited at 300 lbs.and must also be able to meet equipment standards for fall protection (harness, anchor, ropes, etc.) with a maximum capacity of 310 lbs.Ability to travel to numerous sites daily and travel up to 2 weeks at a time with short notice with flexibility to work on weekends and/or overtime along with overnight stay to support Tesla's critical missionMust have compliant government issued identification for domestic air travel and/or to access certain federal facilities.
