Position Overview With supervisor approval, incumbents may be eligible for intermittent remote work; however, they must physically reside within the Sacramento region or have the ability to regularly report to a City of Sacramento physical worksite with little notice. The Administrative Analyst supports the Office of the Director and Engineering Services by performing fiscal functions including budgetary and fiscal analysis, financial reporting, grant compliance, contract administration, procurement processes, and operational needs. They collaborate closely with division staff to ensure accurate budgeting, efficient workflows, and timely reporting. Responsibilities Perform professional analytical and technical work in the formulation and administration of department or division budgets, development and management of grants and contracts, procurement, or personnel functions. Conduct research and analysis for program or project activities, including compliance, eligibility, regulatory issues, and funding requirements. Compile data, analyze information, and make recommendations on policy, procedures, staffing, and organizational changes; conduct surveys and statistical analysis of administrative, fiscal, personnel, or operational problems. Prepare materials and assist in the preparation of grants, budgets, reports, manuals, and publications; coordinate procurement activities for a program or project. Analyze information for preparation of grants, contracts, and agreements; assist in negotiating terms; monitor, report, and prepare performance data. Research and prepare studies, conduct surveys, formulate policies and procedures, monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and outcomes; prepare reports. Participate in, assist, and help design, implement, and install new or revised programs, systems, procedures, methods of operation, and forms. Coordinate and monitor administrative functions of an assigned department; assist with budgets, reports, manuals, and publications. Coordinate activities with other City departments and divisions, and outside agencies; represent the department in committee meetings; oversee contract service providers. Respond to complaints and requests for information; interpret and apply policies and procedures; adjudicate complaints. Make complex program or project eligibility determinations; conduct focus groups; meet with community or business groups. Prepare oral reports and make presentations to City and departmental committees. Train staff as assigned. Provide exceptional customer service to contacted individuals. Experience and Education Experience: Two years of full"‘time paid or equivalent experience performing as a para"‘professional in report writing, research, analysis, or technical support in administration, program management, or system operations. Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public or business administration, economics, accounting, personnel, or a closely related field. Substitution of Education: An additional four years of full"‘time paid or equivalent experience in the same areas may substitute for the required education.
