OverviewThis position works a hybrid schedule of two days per week at one of CNA's actuarial hub offices in Chicago (IL), Radnor (PA), Warren (NJ), New"¯York"¯City (NY) or Walnut Creek (CA).ResponsibilitiesEstablish relationships with business partners and functional subject matter experts, providing actuarial guidance as needed.Build strong relationships with peers, leaders and business partners to influence strategy through actionable insights and analytics.Provide analyses and insights to aid in determining pricing strategy; create and modify tools/analytics as required.Proactively monitor profitability and claim trends for Accountants, Lawyers, Architects and Engineers, Condominium D&O, and Real Estate E&O; share results with recommendations to leaders and underwriting partners.Guide less experienced team members and manage projects as needed.Produce highly technical actuarial analyses and reports, communicating findings to staff and management.Stay up to date in actuarial expertise and industry trends.Drive innovation in processes, maintaining clear documentation of methods.Continuously improve processes with clear documentation.Reporting RelationshipDirector or aboveSkills, Knowledge & AbilitiesStrong knowledge of core functions of an insurance company and actuarial and statistical concepts.Advanced actuarial technical expertise and product"‘specific knowledge.Ability to communicate and influence using analyses at various levels, including senior leadership.Experience building successful business partnerships.Strong analytical, critical"‘thinking, and problem"‘solving skills, capable of resolving complex situations.Solid project"‘management skills, managing multiple priorities and leading teams.Ability to make critical business decisions within the scope of authority.Ability to creatively and effectively manage through ambiguous and challenging problems, leading through change.Education & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent.Typically a minimum of seven years of related work experience.ACAS designation, working towards FCAS (or FCAS achieved).Compensation & BenefitsIn Illinois, New"¯York and California, the average base pay range for a Senior Actuarial Consultant is $134,500 to $190,500.
