Certificated Opportunity for Extra Duty Assignment POSITION(S): Math Intervention Summer Program Facilitator LOCATION(S): District Program (6 positions) DURATION: June 1, 2026 - August 30, 2026 COMPENSATION: $55 per hour, not to exceed 30 hours per employee per year DESCRIPTION Math Intervention Summer Program Facilitators will support a group of incoming 9th grade students in need of math intervention. Using the IXL program, facilitators will track student data and utilize program tools to maximize student success. They will meet virtually with students to provide support, motivation, and tutoring. Program training will be provided, and facilitators are expected to attend in-person meetings at the beginning and end of the program, as well as weekly virtual program meetings. With the exception of the required in-person meetings listed below, the program will be virtual. See detailed schedule in program description. Required Dates June 11, 3:30pm - 5:30pm: In-Person Training June 12, 3:30pm - 5:30pm: In-Person Training July 1, 2:00pm - 5:30pm: In-Person Meeting July 2 - July 30: Virtual Meetings July 31, 2:00pm - 5:30pm: In-Person Meeting MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S) Valid California Mathematics Teaching Credential APPLICATION PROCEDURE Only full-time, contracted CVUHSD certificated employees are eligible for this extra duty assignment. For more information regarding complaints, please access the District's Complaints Webpage: PROGRAM DESCRIPTION Incoming 9th graders who would like to improve their math skills over the summer will participate. Students and parents will attend an in-person orientation meeting, and students will take the IXL Diagnostic test during the first week. Teacher facilitators will proctor the diagnostic and attend the orientation meeting. During the 5-week program, students will be paired with a mathematics teacher facilitator who supports them while they work on mastering mathematics skills in the IXL online program. Each student will aim to master one skill with a Smart Score of at least 80 each weekday (approximately 15-20 minutes a day, 5 skills per week). Facilitators will use reports and tools in IXL to maximize success and will meet with students at least once per week to support, motivate, and tutor. INCENTIVES Students can receive incentives for achieving goals, such as school swag (t-shirts, sweatshirts, ballcaps), gift cards, and PBIS points.
