The modeler/designer will coordinate his/her design activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful project execution for renewable energy and power delivery projects throughout the Midwest and Western United States.The location for this hybrid-friendly position is flexible with a preference for individuals who are based near one of DEA's offices in California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Texas, Utah, or Washington. Fully remote may be considered depending on circumstances. Some travel for project execution may be required.What You'll DoKey ResponsibilitiesDevelop and prepare detailed structural drawings and layouts for substations and renewable energy projects using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit)Collaborate with structural engineers to interpret design concepts and produce accurate drawings that comply with project specifications and industry standardsEnsure compliance with local building codes and industry regulations specific to substation and renewable energy designsRevise and update drawings based on feedback from engineers and project stakeholdersConduct site visits to gather information and verify dimensions for existing structuresAssist in the preparation of project documentation, including specifications, reports, and project plansMaintain organized project files and documentation for substation and renewable energy projectsParticipate in project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and updates related to project timelines and deliverablesStay current with advancements in CAD technology and structural design practices, particularly in relation to substation and renewable energy projectsWhat You BringRequired QualificationsAssociate degree in CAD, Engineering Technology, or a related fieldProven experience as a CAD/Revit Modeler, preferably within substation or renewable energy projects; experience in other construction sectors is also encouragedDemonstrated experience documenting structural analysis, concrete design, steel design, soil mechanics, and foundation designs in CAD and RevitProficiency in interpreting outputs in structural modeling software such as STADD Pro and foundation design tools such as LPile is a plusWorking knowledge of 3D civil software, including AutoCad Civil 3D, is a plusSolid understanding of structural engineering principles and practices applicable to substation and renewable energy projectsExcellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and qualityStrong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary environmentAbility to manage CAD and Revit plans and details across multiple projects while meeting established deadlinesWhat We OfferWe foster an environment where talented professionals have the freedom and support to do their most meaningful work.
