The designer must complete work independently with minimal supervision.Essential FunctionsResponsible for the following development methods: design research, ideation (brainstorming), concept/development design and refinement, Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD)/Computer-Aided Industrial Design (CAID), layout/presentation render proposals, graphic treatments/applications, preparing design for manufacturing sheets (design sheets) which includes layout, detail callouts/drawings, and graphic treatment details/assets assembly; prototype sample analysis and revisionsCreate a design framework that considers cost, safety, ergonomics, size limits, manufacturing/printing limitations, feasibility, viability, and market desirability for the following categories: Watersports, furniture, toys, etcUtilize development methods in two main company sectors: First, Original Design Manufacturing, which focuses on client-based modification requests, and second, New Product Development (NPD), which focuses on developing new catalog productsCollaborate with the product development team, such as product managers & associates, product design managers, industrial designers, graphic designers, and principal designers.
