Position OverviewThe Memory Stitch role involves hand-sewing each pleat with loop cord using a sewing needle, ensuring precision and quality in the finishing of drapery products.What you'll do Remove drapery from rack for processingAssist the Pleat Folder in placing drapery neatly on the fan folding machineFold long draperies manually on the worktableHand-sew each pleat using loop cord and a sewing needleRefold and band draperies in preparation for inspectionSend finished draperies to the inspector for final quality checkPerform other related duties as assigned by the supervisorComply with all facility safety rules and regulationsReport unsafe practices, conditions, or near misses immediately to a supervisorMaintain floor safety discipline and intervene in cases of unsafe behaviorsProperly wear and report defective personal protective equipment (PPE)Use caution when working around equipment such as air clamps, steam machines, sharp hooks, and pinning toolsStay alert to floor hazards like expansion joints and congested rack areasSeek assistance when handling heavy or oversized draperiesEnsure all equipment is powered down at the end of each shiftMaintain a clean and organized work area, participating in daily housekeeping routinesFollow emergency evacuation routes and protocols specific to your departmentWork is performed in a production environmentMust be able to remain in a stationary (seated) position approximately 50% of the timeMay be required to sit for up to seven hours or more per shiftOccasionally operate hand tools and handle repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers Who you are High school graduateSewing experienceAble to use and read a tape measureGeneral knowledge of fabricsAbility to use hand toolsSuccessfully pass color blind testAccuracy with names, numbers and spellingCapable of sitting for extended periods of timeStrong attention to detailsFollow written and verbal instructions What's in it for you?
