Summary:The purpose of the Early Head Start Childcare Center Supervisor is to oversee the daily operation and staff compliance in a childcare center offering Early Head Start, Head Start, and related services. Additionally, the Site lead will maintain the assigned location according to STARS and PA childcare licensing requirements.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the immediate supervision of assigned staff relative to CCIU, Office of Head Start, and PA childcare licensing policies and proceduresDevelop positive relationships with families enrolled in the program, assisting with family needs and addressing any family concerns that ariseSupervise and evaluate education staff with regard to educational and administrative planning including provision of feedback that leads to positive change in performanceUtilize research based tools, including CLASS, ECERS, ITERS, and TPOT, to provide specific and targeted feedback to the employeeOversee daily dismissal of students, ensuring safe processes are maintained, staff and parents follow procedures, and students are properly supervisedEnsure assigned site runs effectively.Complete quarterly health and safety screener with the Health SpecialistImmediately communicate any concerns or needs relative to the location with Supervisor of Head StartInteract with STARS specialist during site visitsMake recommendations, plan for, and ensure delivery of professional development as required by licensing, STARS, and Office of Head StartLead monthly site based staff meetings, creating an agenda and maintaining attendanceRecommend purchases of equipment, supplies, and materials for center based on classroom needs identified by ECERS, ITERS, curriculum, safety reviews, and observationsCoordinate classroom coverage and staff schedules to ensure proper ratio is maintained at all timesPromote family engagement in the Head Start programIntroduce families to the site, providing tours and program information to prospective participantsCoordinate appointments for families with Family Service Workers to ensure complete enrollment at all timesWork in conjunction with the Family Service Worker to ensure all parties have appropriate family and student informationProvide individualized resources and strategies to promote School ReadinessMaintain accurate records and files to support annual Program Information Report (PIR)All contacts with families must be recordedStudent attendance and meal service must be monitored at point of service and input into Student Tracking System dailyEnsure all required screenings are up to date and in child's fileEnsure that all assessments and parent-teacher conference forms are in child's fileUtilize human resources effectivelyPlan effectively so that all adults in classroom are actively participating with studentsTrain all new adults, whether staff or volunteers, regarding classroom schedule, routines, and Head Start requirementsEnsure that students from local education entities are provided opportunities to fulfill course requirementsMaintain confidentiality of all student and family information, adhering to CCIU standardsQualifications:Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree in Education or closely related field requiredEarly Childhood Education strongly preferredBilingual/Bicultural preferredProfessional or Other Required ClearancesPA Director's Credential within one year requiredCurrent police, child abuse, NSOR, and FBI fingerprint- DHS clearances within 1 year requiredAnticipated Salary Range: Project, HS3, $74,443.20/yr. - $91,894.40/yr. * Placement on band is based on years of direct experience in a comparable role.260 day position, 8 hours per day, 5 days per weekLBEqual Opportunity EmployerChester County Intermediate Unit is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
