Job Description

Position Summary This position serves as the Deputy Division Administrator with the full authority of the Administrator to direct the operations of the bureaus and work units in carrying out their responsibilities at the direction of the Administrator. This position will apply effective management tools to ensure that the Division is meeting planned objectives and provide directions for the Division's strategic planning; direct the fiscal operations of the Division including the budgetary process; direct the development of proposed law changes, new and revised administrative rules and changes in Division policy; provide management of division workflow and guidance documents; and provide direct management of Division Bureau Directors and Office Management Specialist. This position also collaborates with other governmental, professional, and voluntary organizations at the federal, state, and local levels. The Deputy Administrator provides consultation to the Administrator regarding changes in program emphasis, continuation of current programs, or initiating new programs, as well as determining the necessary and appropriate resources and service requirements. To view the complete position description, click here. Salary Information The starting salary for this position is between $54.00 - $59.88 an hour ($112,320 - $124,550 annually). The Administrative Manager classification is in pay schedule and range 81-01. Salaries are dependent on candidate qualifications. Compensation for current State employees may vary and will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan. Job Details This position is eligible to work remotely after an initial training period. Remote work is intended to be performed primarily in the State of Wisconsin. High speed internet access is a requirement of remote work. Remote work options are subject to change based on business needs. Due to the nature of this position's duties, candidates will be subject to a criminal background check prior to appointment. Qualifications Minimally qualified candidates will have experience with: * Developing and managing a budget (e.g., analyzing program costs, establishing an operating budget, etc.) * Managing a large and diverse workforce with multiple program areas; and * Strategic planning and program management (e.g., long-term planning, monitoring progress, allocating resources, etc.). Well qualified candidates will also have experience with: * Grant and/or benefits administration (e.g., preparing fiscal estimates and performance indicators, composing grant narratives and justification statements, developing budgets, etc.); or * Administering social service benefits programs (e.g., education, healthcare, employment, housing, etc.) How To Apply To be considered for this position, you must complete the online application.
