Job Summary and Qualifications As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations. You will perform advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, manage invasive and noninvasive ventilation, and provide care in a variety of clinical environments including critical care, emergency, and acute care settings. This role includes a strong emphasis on supporting a high-acuity Level IV NICU and PICU/PCVICU, where therapists are essential in managing complex respiratory conditions, advanced ventilator strategies, and post-operative cardiac patients. You will be empowered to practice with a high degree of autonomy using evidence-based protocols, while working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team focused on exceptional patient outcomes. What You Will Do In This RoleProvide comprehensive respiratory care across all patient populations, including neonatal, pediatric, and adult patientsServe as a key clinician in the Level IV NICU, PICU/ PCVICU, and Adult ICU managing high-acuity and complex casesSupport post-operative cardiac patients requiring advanced cardiopulmonary managementPerform and manage advanced respiratory therapies, including:Invasive and noninvasive ventilationHigh-frequency ventilation including Jet ventilator used a primary ventilator for our small baby protocolAirway management and intubation supportNitric oxide and specialty gas therapiesUtilize therapist-driven protocols to assess, initiate, adjust, and wean respiratory therapies autonomouslyPerform routine and advanced respiratory procedures, including ABGs, bronchial hygiene therapies, and pulmonary diagnosticsRespond to rapid response and code events as a critical member of the resuscitation teamMaintain clinical excellence through ongoing education and competency validationEnsure proper cleaning, maintenance, and operation of respiratory equipmentProvide education and consultation to physicians, nurses, patients, and familiesCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and outcomesSupport a culture of patient-centered care, safety, and employee engagement QualificationsCurrent Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Colorado Respiratory Therapy license (obtained prior to start date)BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required (or obtained within specified timeframe)Graduate of AMA accredited Respiratory Therapy ProgramExperience in ICU, NICU, and/or pediatric settings preferredStrong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Schedule & Work Environment8-week self-scheduling model, balanced by leadership for fairness and consistencyOpportunities to work across multiple care areas, maintaining broad clinical competencySupportive leadership focused on engagement, development, and career advancement HCA HealthONE, one of the largest and most comprehensive healthcare systems in the Rocky Mountain region, offers more than 170 care sites in the Denver metro area.
