Postdoctoral Associate ANNOUNCEMENT OF PROFESSIONAL VACANCY Applications are invited for consideration to the following position Department: Institute for Genomic Health Budget Title: Postdoctoral Associate Salary Range: (Based Upon Experience)$60,000.00 Descriptive Title:Postdoctoral Associate Full-time, Monday - Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, 37.5 hours per week Vacancy 22-29 Description of Duties: This is a grant funded position. We are seeking applications for a postdoctoral research fellow interested in conducting research on interventions that promote the careers of underrepresented individuals in the biomedical and health disparities research workforce. This postdoctoral fellow will also join a vibrant health equity research community supported by the Translational Program of Health Disparities Research Training (TRANSPORT) at SUNY Downstate. The TRANSPORT postdoctoral fellow receives salary support for a two-year period. In addition, this fellow may be eligible to receive support for their research and research-related expenses (e.g., travel, publications, and supplies). The second year of support is contingent upon successful achievement of milestones, and a progress report submitted after year one. At the conclusion of the two-year fellowship, it is expected that the fellow will have published peer-reviewed papers, generated pilot data, and established networks that will facilitate transition to career development awards and future independent funding. TRANSPORT: TRANSPORT is a National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD)-funded $10 million S21 Health Disparities Endowment grant that provides a foundation for developing a diverse biomedical research workforce. The SUNY Downstate TRANSPORT-Postdoctoral Fellowship seeks to support post-graduate fellows who are from backgrounds that are underrepresented in biomedical research, and who are dedicated to developing a career in academic research. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Marcus Lambert at Qualifications: REQUIRED: Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in the biomedical, nursing, allied health professions, behavioral or public health sciences (MD, PhD, PhD/MD, DNP, or equivalent). The ideal candidate has excellent writing and communication skills and a strong background in quantitative research methodology, biostatistics, and/or qualitative research methods.
