Job Description

FWI is building a team to administer, maintain, secure, and accredit the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) Academic Network, which provides the IT environment for 100% of DLIFLC teaching and instruction for all students, staff, faculty, and guests. This position will serve as the Government's senior technical escalation point for end-user support, bridging helpdesk operations, desktop services, and enterprise IT systems to drive efficient problem resolution. The ITS Lead will develop solutions for complex network, desktop, and server problems, analyze existing systems to recommend proactive improvements, and ensure the military language training community receives responsive, expert-level technical support that keeps their learning environment running smoothly.FWI has been recognized as a Top Workplace by the Washington Post in 2024 and 2025, offering excellent growth opportunities in a collaborative environment.**Position is contingent upon contract award**Work Schedule and Location:On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday,7:45am to 4:45pm at Presidio of Monterey in Monterey, CA.Provide highest level of technical support to end users by handling escalated service requestsDevelop solutions for complex network, desktop, and server problemsAnalyze existing systems and make proactive recommendations for improvementsDevelop, maintain, and implement systems, applications, and networking configurationsOversee deployment and configuration of desktops, laptops, tablets, and peripherals (Apple & Windows)Coordinate Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) remediation on workstationsEnsure compliance with DoD Information Assurance standards for all client devicesMay be required to travel (CONUS/OCONUS)Required:BA/BS from accredited college/university with minimum 5 years experience OR AA/AS with minimum 7 years experience OR 9+ years related technical experience (in lieu of degree)Requires one of the following certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCPWindows or Apple Certified TechnicianAdvanced knowledge of current Microsoft desktop and server operating systemsAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Exchange, SharePoint, and other server applicationsAdvanced knowledge of computer and server hardwareFamiliarity with network troubleshootingExperience with Ivanti Management Suite (or equivalent ITSM Platforms), Microsoft SCCM, or Jamf ProProfessional customer service skillsResourceful and able to take initiative in a dynamic environmentSecret level security clearanceFWI is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/vets.At FWI, we place the highest importance on creating an exceptional employee experience.
