EP Design Services LLC (EPDS) is Edgewood’s multi-disciplinary design firm providing architectural and engineering services.EPDS provides superior design in creating memorable and viable environments.We're currently seeking an Civil Engineering CAD DesignerCandidate will work full-time in our creative office located in Piscataway, NJ.2 to 5 years previous experienceAre you an independent thinker with experience in civil engineering land development who enjoys a fast paced and dynamic workplace where you can contribute to the design and production of residential and commercial architecture?We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Designer (sometimes called Civil CAD Designer) with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our integrated civil engineering and architecture team focused on multi-family and commercial projects based in New Jersey. This role involves leading design and documentation efforts, coordinating with consultants and in-house development teams, and supporting projects through all phases from concept to construction. The ideal candidate brings strong CAD skills, knowledge of local codes and zoning, and a practical understanding of how design decisions impact constructability and development goals. This is a hands-on role with opportunities for advancement, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and professional growth. Responsibilities:Drafting of commercial/residential site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including but not limited to the following:Geometry plan layoutsUtility Plans & ProfilesGrading & Drainage plans, Profiles and Cross SectionsRoadway Plans, Profiles & Cross SectionsSketches and Exhibits as neededUse GIS software to obtain required site images and incorporate into project drawingsUse 3rd party applications (Auto-TURN, Photoshop, etc.) to generate drawings based on specific project requirementsNJDOT & NJDEP Permitting PlansAdditional Skill desired:Preparation of Concept Drawings based upon Ownership’s development objectives and conclusions of due diligence. Involves preparation of concept plan and draftingDesign of utility systems, including stormwater runoff & conveyance, sanitary sewer collection, water distribution, etc.Soil Erosion & Sediment Control Design, including stability calculations, Best Management Practices, swale design, spillway design, and determination of construction sequence.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering preferred In lieu of degree, associate’s degree and demonstrated experience in civil design and drafting 3 - 5 years of commercial & residential site design and permitting experienceDemonstrated Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3DUndertraining of RSIS preferredFoundation/geotechnical experience and understandingDrainage Software - Storm CAD, Hydroflow, HydroCADProficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft ProjectSelf-starter who can work independently and with team membersStrong organizational skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsIn return, we offer competitive compensation, along with comprehensive benefits, including medical and dental and vision benefits, life insurance,a 401(k) with company match and a corporate team environment with opportunity of advancment.
