The Aircraft Mechanic I - LUH-72 A&P performs maintenance on helicopters, excluding repair of systems according to drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals and safety procedures. u00b7 Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. u00b7 Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems. u00b7 Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks. u00b7 Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections. u00b7 Performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required. u00b7 Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment. u00b7 Prepare forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. u00b7 Removes and disassembles defective parts of the aircraft. u00b7 Maintains the supplies and perform preventive maintenance. u00b7 Performs additional duties including maintenance duties, as requested. u00b7 When required can use Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) for job duties. u00b7 Adheres to company policies and safety programs (Safety-first mentality) Minimum Requirements u00b7 High School Diploma or equivalent is required. u00b7 U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired, certification of education level is required. u00b7 All mechanics assigned to perform maintenance on FAA certified aircraft must meet FAA requirements. u00b7 Valid FAA A&P Certificate Required. u00b7 Shall have three years aviation maintenance experience, two years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS) LUH-72 . u00b7 All experience must be within the six most recent years. u00b7 Valid Driveru2019s License. u00b7 Must provide own tools/toolbox . Recruiters will provide toolbox requirements to candidates upon selection. u00b7 Must be able to work, day shift, swing shift, night shift, and/or weekend shift (if applicable) u2013 As required for CBA. u00b7 Must be eligible to obtain a Passport and be able to travel internationally (applicable to OCONUS work sites). + Must be willing and able to work any shift, as assigned by Union. Clearance Requirements (as applicable) u00b7 Must be able to obtain and maintain a NAC-I (T1) Public Trust Security Clearance. u00b7 Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. u00b7 US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility. Knowledge & Skills u00b7 Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems on the assigned MDS. u00b7 Basic knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, hydraulic press machine, and those listed in the assigned MDS Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC). u00b7 Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems. u00b7 Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects u00b7 Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by aircraft mechanic. u00b7 The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Physical Requirements/Working Environment u00b7 Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day. u00b7 Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands. u00b7 Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders. u00b7 May be required to lift/push/pull heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds. u00b7 Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications. u00b7 Will handle dirty parts and lubricants. u00b7 Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). u00b7 Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification. u00b7 May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc. u00b7 May work in maintenance shop or outside. u00b7 Must be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty. u00b7 May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment. u00b7 May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles. u00b7 May be expected to work in austere environments and all-weather conditions. California: Compensation & Benefits: HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $48.20-49.65 (Hourly rate set by CBA) This position includes a competitive benefits package.
