City : Destrehan State : Louisiana (US-LA) Country : United States (US) Requisition Number : 43823 A Day in the Life:Bunge is hiring several Plant Mechanics for our Destrehan soybean processing facility. The Plant Mechanic is responsible for the mechanical maintenance of the processing facility, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and instruments. They must actively participate in Bunge’s employee safety policy and maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees. Additionally, this role is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site’s food safety management system, and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.Position Details:Schedules: Some will be on a 12-hour rotating shift, and some will be on a Monday through Friday shift. 12-hour rotating shifts: 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am. Overtime, call-out availability, weekends/holidays, and an on-call rotation are required.Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm Pay: $31.00 an hourBunge offers a variety of benefits including health and wellness plans, retirement contribution and paid vacation/holidays.What You’ll Be Doing:Preventative maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement of plant equipmentOperation of various hand tools and power toolsUsing measurement devices, including calipers, pi tapes, and micrometersWelding and cutting using a torch: tig, mig, stick-on piping and structuralRigging and using cables and slingsSheet metal layoutsAssembly and installation of bearings on shaftsAlignment of coupling between two inputsParts lubrication and other maintenance tasksOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Millwright/Mechanic experienceGood written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in a team environment Ability to work in a highly quality controlled environment Ability to work in a safety conscious environment Preferred Qualifications:High school diploma or GEDAssociate degree and/or technical certificationWelding and cutting using a torchAt Bunge (NYSE: BG), our purpose is to connect farmers to consumers to deliver essential food, feed and fuel to the world.
