This position will be based out of our Bakersfield office.Duties and ResponsibilitiesPre-activity Surveys for covered species, including SJKF,CTS, CRLFWildlife exclusion fencing inspections for other covered speciesExcavations of potential covered species burrowsCoordination with construction staff to understand upcoming construction activitiesMonitor construction activities within covered species habitatMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in environmental science, or other related field3-4 years' experience construction monitoringSurveyed and monitored for SJKF, CTS, and/or CRLF previously on at least one projectRecorded observations of specified covered speciesMust possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by the first day of employmentPreferred QualificationsPreviously approved by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) Region 4 as a SJKF and/or CTS Designated Biologist (DB)Handling and relocation experience of CTS and CRLFCompensation: $42.75-52.25/hourly**Finalagreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment.Working ConditionsThis joboperatesin an outdoor or office-basedenvironmentand this role routinelyusesstandard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.This job requires project site visits, basedoutdoorswhich can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, and moving vehicles and equipment.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
