Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflightThis role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for coordinating changes and acting as a focal point between the Avionics RF Comms team and the other Avionics, rocket systems and subsystems teams for various spaceflights. This is a hands-on position that will involve you in all aspects of engineering, design, documentation, configuration management, fabrication, installation and test. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.Responsibilities:Coordinate communication and create/manage change requests between the Avionics RF Comms team and the other Avionics and rocket systems and subsystems teams.Manage unit level configurations and coordinate with suppliers (internal and external) to ensure the correct configurations are built.Coordinate with the installation site to ensure the correct configurations are installed.Support Non-Conformances resolution and incorporation.Support creation of work orders for test and sub-system builds.Support configuration management tasks and documentation of new and legacy systems and designsSupport change incorporation issues by providing impact assessments.Support design configuration development and trade studiesMaintain and report on activity schedule and technical status.Identify opportunities for improvements in processes, reductions in cost and schedule savings.Required Qualifications:B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or an appropriate engineering field10+ years of experience designing Avionics for the Aerospace industry5+ Experience as a liaison engineerExperience with configuration management tools and ticketing systems (Windchill, Jira, Jama, or the like)Knowledge of basic RF systems and sub-systems, radios and cables/harnesses.Proven experience in the use of PCBA layout and design tools in the design of RF and avionics circuit boards and sub-systems.Familiar with PCBA standards and fabrication processes within IPC-2221, IPC-A-600/601, IPC-4101, IEC-61188, or the like.Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD softwareDesired:Experience with layout of RF PCBAs, preferably Altium Designer.Experience with 3D modeling tools of LRUs such a Creo.Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft electrical/mechanical pensation Range for:WA applicants is $130,706.00 - $182,987.70Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
