Position Overview Prep Academy Tutors of Upper Manhattan & the Bronx is seeking dedicated, knowledgeable, and compassionate Academic Tutors to support students in grades Ku201312 across a variety of subject areas. Our tutors provide personalized, one-on-one instruction tailored to each student's academic needs, learning style, and goals. Key Responsibilities + Provide one-on-one academic tutoring in core subjects (Math, English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and/or Foreign Languages) + Support students with homework, study skills, executive functioning, and test preparation + Develop individualized learning plans based on student needs and assessment results + Track student progress and provide regular updates to families + Foster a positive, encouraging, and professional learning environment + Travel to students' homes (Upper Manhattan and/or the Bronx) or conduct virtual sessions Qualifications + Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or teaching certification preferred + Strong subject-matter expertise in at least one core academic area + Prior teaching or tutoring experience (classroom, private tutoring, or small-group instruction) + Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners + Excellent communication and organizational skills + Reliable transportation (for in-person tutoring assignments) + Authorized to work in the United States What We Offer + Competitive hourly compensation + Flexible scheduling + Ongoing professional support + Meaningful, long-term relationships with students and families Schedule & Availability Tutoring sessions typically take place: + Weekday afternoons and evenings + Weekends (as needed) Tutors create schedules based on their availability and student demand. Work Location Upper Manhattan and The Bronx (in-home and virtual options available) Requirements A qualified applicant will have a bachelor's degree and will also meet at least one of the following criteria: u00b7 You hold a valid NY State teaching certificate or the equivalent thereof u00b7 You are a current student teacher; pursuing a teaching certificate u00b7 You have 2 or more years experience as a classroom teacher in a private or charter school. u00b7 You have experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited U.S. University or College u00b7 You are a Master's/PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at an accredited U.S. University or College How to Apply Interested candidates should submit a resume and brief cover letter outlining subject expertise, availability, and preferred grade levels.
