Job Description Inpatient Occupational and Recreational Therapies at UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for an Health Services Manager. WORK SCHEDULE + Full-Time / 40 hours per week + Day Shifts POSITITON HIGHLIGHTS + Manage all aspects of inpatient occupational and recreational therapies across the continuum of care for acute care and behavioral health at UWMC Northwest campus + Scope of supervision includes occupational therapy and recreational therapy + This position is responsible for operations including fiscal, personnel, quality improvement, productivity and care coordination. This position reports to the Director of Rehab Therapy Services + Oversee performance evaluation of inpatient occupational and recreational therapy staff, maintain performance improvement activities within the department and participate in Quality Improvement activities + Evaluate budget performance versus budget controls and takes appropriate action to remain in budget guidelines + Provide data to the direction for budget development and in devising systems that support efficiency of care PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES + Hire, manage and supervise staff of inpatient Occupational and Recreational Therapy. Regularly perform assessments of staff, providing constructive input and coaches them for performance, facilitate needed training, conduct formal performance evaluations. Interview, hire, and coordinate orientation of new staff. Oversee development of needed competencies. + Responsibility for setting exceptional standards for inpatient occupational and recreational therapies care across the continuum of acute care and behavioral health conditions seen by UWMC and see that these standards are met and maintained by staff. Have an understanding of the complexities of rehab therapy regulations for inpatient behavioral health. + Manage staff training and compliance with regulatory standards such as those set by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), The Joint Commission (TJC) and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in treatment and documentation for all staff. + In conjunction with Inpatient Rehab manager, manage student training and residency programs rehab therapy and provides support and mentorship for clinical student supervisors. + Have the ability to collaborate across acute care and behavioral health partnering with the inpatient psychiatric program director and Assistant Administrator of Behavioral Health to ensure the individual therapy needs of identified patients are met and the CMS requirements for therapeutic programing are in place and evaluated. + Manage therapist schedules based on the needs of the patient populations seen, optimizing patient access, productivity, and staff engagement. Manage service recovery for patients and follow up. + Continuously assess staff mix based on populations served, volumes, types of referrals, requests from providers and medical center, and evidence-based developments within the scope of licensure. REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS + Three (3) or more years clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist + Prior supervisory or management experience + Bacheloru2019s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy + Current Washington State Occupational Therapy + Current Washington State Driveru2019s license ABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-NORTHWEST UW Medical Center is an acute care hospital located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
