DESCRIPTION: Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is searching for an enthusiastic Senior Applications Scientist, Cell Culture to join our team in Grand Island, NY, USA or Hunt Valley, MD, USA. Residency within either of the sites is required. Relocation assistance not provided. As a Senior Technical Application Specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll provide expert-level application data development and contribute to business growth in our Protein Production Cell Culture Media product portfolio. You'll work alongside Product Management, Market Development and R&D to generate application data that supports evolving customer needs for our existing suite of products. This role combines technical expertise with customer relationship building to ensure optimal product performance and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include: u2022 Work closely with customers to understand their technical and scientific needs, and develop innovative application project ideas u2022 Incorporate user-centric product design experience and voice of customer to develop robust, innovative application data for cell culture products and workflows u2022 Collaborate with teams from various departments and external scientists to conduct feasibility and development studies and partner with market development to publish. u2022 Act as a technical lead for application data projects u2022 Lead partnerships and collaborations with renowned investigators at research institutions, regulatory and standards organizations, industry, and biotech/biopharma worldwide u2022 Represent the company at scientific meetings and conferences REQUIREMENTS: u2022 Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in relevant field with hands-on technical experience u2022 Preferred Fields of Study: Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related field u2022 Expert-level knowledge of specific product applications and workflows with hands on technical cell culture process development or manufacturing experience u2022 Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities for complex technical issues u2022 Proven ability to provide remote and on-site technical support u2022 Experience conducting technical training sessions and presentations u2022 Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal u2022 Strong customer service orientation with ability to build and maintain relationships u2022 Demonstrated collaboration skills u2022 Commercial awareness to identify opportunities u2022 Proficiency in English; additional languages beneficial u2022 Willingness to travel up to 20% as required u2022 Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities u2022 Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines u2022 Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and relevant technical software u2022 Experience with quality systems and regulatory requirements (GMP) preferred Compensation and Benefits The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $104,000.00u2013$137,000.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
