Description Global Non Profit organization is hiring a skilled and motivated Accounting Manager to join their team in Manhattan, NY. This position plays a pivotal role in overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting the organization's mission. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in nonprofit accounting, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining accurate and efficient financial processes. Responsibilities: u2022 Supervise and mentor a team of two staff accountants, guiding their work in accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. u2022 Ensure compliance with established accounting policies and internal controls, while identifying opportunities for process improvements. u2022 Review and manage monthly expense reports, ensuring proper coding and allocation to departments, projects, grants, and funding sources. u2022 Coordinate with international offices to reconcile monthly expense submissions and maintain accurate records. u2022 Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations to maintain financial integrity. u2022 Assist in the creation of financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. u2022 Support year-end closing procedures and audit preparation, including Form 990 filings. u2022 Collaborate with program teams on budget tracking, grant reporting, and forecasting expenditures. u2022 Review and approve journal entries and monthly general ledger account reconciliations. u2022 Respond to inquiries from staff regarding financial matters and handle additional projects as assigned.
