The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Infrastructure, is seeking a Senior Design Engineer join the Design Unit u2013 Section 5. The successful candidate will work on projects in support of the Southeast Queens Initiatives. The selected candidate will plan and review the work of subordinates within a squad to ensure that sound engineering judgment is being utilized; prepare basic design plans for significant or complex roadway, sewer, and water main projects; review and approve the work of outside consultants and contractors; and ensure that all work performed follows contract drawings. Additionally, the Senior Design Engineer will perform the design and/or review of structures; make interpretive detailed sketches or layouts of intricate designs; prepare final specifications and estimates; and train and mentor new hires.
