A welcoming, multi-generational family seek a fantastic developmentally-focused nanny, who is also able to with some assistant-style duties. The usual schedule will be Monday through Friday, 9am-6pm, and please expect to travel to Manhattan and other domestic destinations on a reasonably regular basis.The successful candidate will be comfortable in a shared care environment and will have prior experience with toddlers (their son is 18months). Responsibilities will include:Providing a warm and loving environment that encourages social, emotional, physical and intellectual developmentResearching and taking him to fun, educational and enriching local classes and playgroupsLight housekeeping pertaining to the baby, including his laundry and ironing, and keeping his areas very clean and tidyPotty-training, when the time comes!Helping with the morning and evening routines, encouraging healthy sleep habitsAll aspects of toddler care including feeding, nap schedules, evening routines etcWorking closely with Mom, offering guidance, support, and up-to-date knowledgeEngaging child in creative, imaginative, and developmentally appropriate playSupporting emotional regulation, communication, manners, and boundaries in a warm but firm mannerWorking collaboratively with parents and other staffSupporting transitions, changes in routine, and evolving family needsConfident drivers preferredStrong understanding of milestones and developmentProfessional, polished but with a warm, considerate and caring personalityCalm, confident, and comfortable holding age-appropriate boundariesAble to partner effectively with family members and other household staffAble to engage with the children at their level, and encourage learning through play and explorationExcellent communication skillsOrganised and very tidyJapanese-speaking would be a bonus (but isn't essential)From $40/hr, depending on experience
