DescriptionThe Director of Accounting is responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance across all accounting functions, and leading the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. This position supports budgeting, cost analysis, forecasting, and modeling. This is a visible and impactful role, requiring insightful reporting and analytics, along with proactive communication and partnership with VP of Finance.Quick FactsCompensation:$146,800 - $211,400, with a target range of $148,000 - $158,000, annually, depending on experienceWorking hours:Full-time, salary, on-siteReports to: CFOIndustry:Marine TerminalJob Functions: AccountingEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements, including variance analysis and executive presentationLead annual financial audit and financial statement preparationMaintain and enforce accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAPEnsure compliance with all federal, state and local rules and regulationsEnsure records are maintained in accordance with standard accounting principlesResearch technical accounting issues for complianceLead external tax reporting preparationManage daily operations of the accounting departmentManage outsourced accounting functions and servicesOversee procurement process for organizationManage corporate credit card systemOversee tracking and reporting of capex to budget and project timelinesOversee cash flow forecasting and treasury reporting, ensuring liquidity and covenant complianceSupport insurance procurement and reportingAssist with annual budget, forecasting, and modelingPrepare company ad hoc financial analysesProvide coaching and support consistent with company valuesOther duties as assignedAdditional Responsibilities include the ply with Corporate Safety and department policies and procedures.Attend required safety trainings and meetings; follow all safety and health guidelines, standards, practices, policies, and procedures; and actively participate in the Husky's Emergency Preparedness program and activitiesThis position description generally describes the principal functions of the position, the level of knowledge and skills typically required and the general scope of responsibility.
