We are looking for passionate, driven individuals to join our team focused onDelivering Solutions and Improving Lives.The successful candidate will plan, administer and design mechanical HVAC, energy and plumbing projectsReview work for the application of sound professional judgment and code complianceEstablish and maintain client relationships; ensure client satisfaction; ensure client objectives are metResponsible for marketing, writing proposals, winning work, maintaining and developing key client relationshipsParticipate in client-rich professional organizations and functionsTrain and mentor young professionalsPerform design and energy calculations and prepare equipment or material specificationsFamiliar with the AE design process and specifications leading to construction documentsPrepare graphical representations of designsAssignments require the investigation of a limited number of variables and supervisory assistance is provided on unusual problemsMay supervise or coordinate the work of designers and other technical support personnelExperience in the design of commercial, industrial, educational, and governmental buildings, small industrial plants and warehouses, central chilled water and heating plantsExperience performing field work, including identification of equipmentExperience carrying project from Notice-To-Proceed through Construction Documents through Construction Administration, including participating in project and review meetingsOther duties may be assigned.EducationBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university requiredRequired Skills and ExperienceMinimum of 7 years of mechanical engineering experience with a background in HVAC, plumbing, controls, and energy design. Fire protection design a plus.A minimum of 2 years experience managing tasks, and small projectsSolid understanding of mechanical design and construction standardsDemonstrated experience in the design of commercial, industrial, educational, and governmental buildings, small industrial plants and warehouses, central chilled water and heating plantsWorking knowledge of applicable mechanical, plumbing and energy design codesExperience in leading mechanical design team thru projectProject Management experience a plusLicenses and CertificationsNM PE required or obtainable; licenses in other states a plus; Fire Protection PE a plusProfessional registration in New Mexico required or obtainableValid NM drivers’ license required; must meet company insurability requirementsNV5 offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, PTO, 401(k) and professional development/advancement opportunities.
