In this Manager of Projects (MoP) position for Northeast Transportation, Ports & Maritime, youu2019d directly supervise Project Managers (PMs) and be an integral part of our Northeast Transportation market leadership this role youu2019ll use your strong inspirational leadership skills to providing mentoring and career development for the project managers and design managers in your portfolio of projects and aligned PMs. This will include coaching and improving skills in scoping and budgeting of projects, project execution, and overall client management and satisfaction. You will promote inclusion and diversity within the project teams in their portfolio. Ultimately you will be developing an environment for the PMu2019s financial and professional success.Youu2019ll use your passion for focusing on staff management (for PMs) and a desire to focus on helping our PMs to deliver successful solutions for our clients. Youu2019ll also be involved in working with Client Account Managers (CAMs) and capture teams, participating in various sales activities such as go/no-gou2019s, teaming strategies, pricing strategy, Global Integrated Design (GID) resource strategy, and middle/end game activities for strategic pursuits. The MOP role will transcend from pre-tender to full project delivery and will include delivery and risk governance throughout the process.Along with the Group Leaders (GLs) and CAMs and our engineering team, you will contribute to local market strategy and growth, career development, succession planning, staff retention, hiring plans, etc. You will be expected to coordinate with the DLs and GLs for staff needs and workload planning.As MoP, you will be driving the delivery of budgeted Gross Margin (GM) for a portfolio of projects and aligned PMs. Youu2019ll enhance GM results though focus on change management, cash management and delivery of high-quality value-added services to our clients. Youu2019ll also review and approve proposal/project contract documents, risk and pricing. The MoP will ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements for all projects in their portfolio and aligned PMs. Youu2019ll partner with the Geographic and Performance Unit Financial and Project Controls leads and staff for Business Plan Forecasting and to ensure that Project estimates to completion (ETCu2019s)/estimates at complete (EACs) are forecasted accurately. Youu2019ll also ensure compliance with all Project Execution Group (PEG)/Quality policies, procedures, protocols and work instructions and use of our project tools.Key accountabilities include eliminating/reducing financial surprises, improving clarity around performance expectations, establishing focus on project performance and delivering to expectations, focus on improving gaps in margin and operations performance and drive to achieve a state of quality control rigor and consistency.Recurring duties include:u2022 Mentoring and coaching of project managers, commercial managers and design managersu2022 Review and approval of Project Risk Register/Mitigation Plans, Project Execution Plans, and Project Quality Plansu2022 Conduct monthly Operational Project Reviews (OPR) on projects and document critical issues and actionsu2022 Attend Project Administrative Reviews (PARs) as required to discuss projects within the MOP portfolio that meet PAR thresholdsu2022 Review resourcing plans and ensure capability and capacity are in place to successfully deliver each project, in partnership with DLs and GLs.u2022 Ensure compliance with delivery, quality and client engagement in Polaris, including governance to sub-contract management and oversightu2022 Participation/leadership of Pricing Reviews for proposalsu2022 Review accuracy of ETCs/EACs and address variances or issues with PMsu2022 Approve Revenue Recognition Workflowsu2022 Provide Contract Delivery Review System (CDRS) approvalsu2022 Cascade information related to new and updated Jacobs project delivery tools and systems to project teams within your portfoliou2022 Form an escalation point of contract to contractors to support the project delivery teamu2022 Work in partnership with Department Leaders to manage end Client relationships sensitively with direct Client relationships u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in a related fieldu2022 Demonstrated deep project, design and commercial management experienceu2022 Demonstrated strong experience in change managementu2022 Financial experience required along with demonstrated strong commercial and business acumenu2022 Experience with contracts and risk managementu2022 Experience with project execution and deliveryu2022 An interest and drive in improving processes and ways of workingu2022 Strong organizational, communications skills, and leadership abilitiesIdeally, Youu2019ll Also Have:u2022 Advanced degree in related fieldu2022 Professional Registration#LI-SW1Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
