Job OverviewBFG Manufacturing Services is seeking a reliable and hardworking Entry-Level Laborer (Racker/Packer) to join our team on third shift (3rd Shift) 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals starting their career in warehouse and manufacturing environments. This role is hands-on, physical and serves as the entry point into metal finishing/plating operations. We provide on-the-job training. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing metal parts for the electroplating process by securely placing (racking) them onto specialized racks, hooks, or fixtures, and later removing (unracking) and packaging finished parts. This position supports the electroplating lines by ensuring parts are properly positioned for uniform plating, while maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety standards. Responsibilities Read and follow instructions, or customer specifications to determine correct racking methods for each part. Rack (hang/attach) metal parts onto plating racks, hooks, bars, or fixtures using wires, clips, or other holding devices, ensuring proper spacing, orientation and electrical contact for even plating. Unrack finished plated parts carefully after the plating, rinsing and drying process. Visually inspect parts before and after plating for obvious defects, damage, or incomplete coverage, report issues to supervisor or quality control. Count, sort, organize and label parts throughout the process. Package finished parts according to customer requirements (e.g., into boxes or totes) to prevent damage during shipping and storage. Maintain accurate counts and complete basic production paperwork or computer entries (entering jobs in/out). Keep work area clean, organized, and safe - remove scrap, and dispose of waste properly. Assist other team members on the plating line or production floor as needed (e.g., moving racks, loading/unloading. Follow all safety protocols, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) (gloves, safety glasses, aprons, steel-toe shoes, etc.) at all times. Qualifications & Skills Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience: Entry-level position. We will train the right candidate. Ability to perform repetitive manual tasks at a steady pace in a fast-moving production environment. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small to medium sized parts. Strong attention to detail, quality, and commitment to accuracy in packing tasks. Good communication skills and ability to follow both verbal and written instructions clearly. Willingness to learn new procedures and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in warehouse or manual labor roles is a plus but not required. Basic understanding of safety practices related to handling goods and equipment. Reliable, punctual, and able to stand for long periods and perform physical work. Comfortable working around chemicals, and industrial equipment (with proper training and PPE). Ability to lift 10-30 lbs. (parts, racks, boxes). Preferred (but not required) Previous manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, or labor experience. Familiarity with basic hand tools, wire cutting, or small parts handling. Understanding of quality standards or inspection processes. Ability to read work instructions. Working Conditions Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, plating solutions, rinse water, noise, and varying temperatures. Required to wear PPE including chemical resistant gloves, eye protection, and other protective gear. Position involves prolonged standing, bending, reaching and repetitive motions.
