Job Title

The Lowboy/Truck Driver is responsible for operating a truck & trailer for transportation of construction material and equipment. In this position, the Driver will load construction equipment (may include but are not limited to: front end loader, paving equipment, tanks, roller, dozer, excavator, oversized loads) onto trailer and transport to various sites to include Virginia, Maryland and Washington D C. This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of equipment/trucks. Trucks are weighted between 80,000 -110,000 Heavy Loads.Perform daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines and company policiesObey applicable laws and follow dispatch instructionsMaintain daily vehicle logsMonitor various gauges during operation of vehicleLoad and unload equipment or materialsThorough operational knowledge and skills of trucks and related equipment to be operatedDisplay a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all timesWillingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as requiredMust keep truck in a clean and orderly conditionStrictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee HandbookAble to work in all weather conditionsPerform general labor duties when necessaryPerform other duties as assignedExperienced drivers for tractor/trailer. Class A CDL with doubles, triples endorsement and experience required with good driving recordMUST have 3 years previous experience with heavy haul oversized equipmentPass DOT pre-employment drug screen and criminal background checkBe willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as needed.Physical and Environmental Specific Requirements:Ability to sit or stand for long periods of timePhysical ability to lift and carry 50 lbs of materialsManual dexterity and strength sufficient enough to enter information via computer keyboard for long periods of time, to write notes and information needed, and to pick up and hold paperwork, supplies and other items.Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to effectively communicate.Education and Training:Class A CDLClean driving recordHazmat and Tanker endorsement a plus but not requiredWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and comply with OFCCP regulations.
