West Vancouver Materials Recovery Center (West Van) , a Waste Connections company, is looking to hire a highly motivated & safety driven, Forklift Operator, to work at our Transfer Station in Vancouver, WA (6601 NW Old Lower River Rd, Vancouver, WA 98660) Pay range is $27-$29/HR DOE Schedule is Monday - Friday Shift is 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM with some overtime as needed. Safety Sensitive: Yes Qualified candidates must have Forklift operating experience. + REQUIRES ability to efficiently & safely operate Forklift. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Operate forklift or other equipment as needed. + Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires. + Completes daily reports on pre and post trip inspections of equipment. + Yard and facility maintenance including debris and clean up. + Spotting Trucks. + Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. + Specific duties can change on the daily basis as operation needs change. + Working outside in all weather conditions. WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: + Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. + Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions. + Ability to perform a physically demanding job at times with no helpers. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: + Ability to adhere to company policies and rules that are set forth promotes the companyu2019s safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness. + Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise + Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. + Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: + High school diploma or equivalent. + Basic knowledge of computer skills. + Pre-employment requirements for this safety sensitive position include drug panel screening & criminal background check.
